Braun 550
$150.00
Released December, 2008
The Pros:Longer hairs are never missed, unlike with some electric razors. Cleans pretty easily--just rinse out the head after use. Excellent battery life (2+ weeks on average).
The Cons:Doesn't really shave any better than older Braun models. The included case can hold the shaver and only the shaver--there isn't even room for the power cord. Tends to be pretty harsh on the skin.
The Braun 550 is a cordless, foil electric shaver that features a precision, contour-hugging shaver head designed to provide an effective shave by automatically adjusting to every facial contour for maximum closeness and comfort, even in hard-to-shave areas.

An upgrade from the Series 3 Braun shavers (340, 370, 390cc), the Braun 550 relies on a unique Gillette Blade Technology to cut hair close in a single stroke without pulling or tugging, not to mention a Power Comb Technology that lifts problem hairs that lie flat to the skin to avoid missed hairs in hard to shave areas. Like its predecessors, the Braun 550 includes a unique foil pattern that utilizes a 3-state cutting system to capture hairs growing from different directions for a closer shave in fewer strokes. In addition, the Braun 550 sports an environmentally friendly rechargeable battery with a 60 minute battery-recharge time, a 3 minute quick-charge (versus 5 minutes), and a 45 minute cordless operation run time. The Braun 550 also comes equipped with a long hair trimmer, a visual charging indicator, a cleaning brush, and a traveling case. The Braun 370 is priced at $149.99, a $30 increase from its immediate predecessor, the Braun 390cc.
